Literary cat visits library

Fidel, the black cat, apparently religiously hangs out at the library every day! Amazing. And it isn’t about food either: no one’s feeding him there. It looks like he just happens to love books.See the story here.

He reminds me of a short story I read by Roald Dahl in which a piano-loving cat seemed to be the reincarnation of Liszt.

I love this story. :) Thank you for sharing, Mala! I love the new blog design. Very fresh. Colors are great. :)

Adorable cat. And so scholarly and dignified looking too.

The template? I’ve been experimenting with one or two in the hope that it’ll dislodge whatever it is that prevents people in IE from reading the text! I tried an orange one called Oriental in the morning but it was positioning posts all stuck together and not neat at all! Maybe I’ll stick with this for a bit. At least it feels fresh and minty – and good in this Delhi heat!

    lovely cat :)
I soo love the black cats My first cat (actually my aunt’s but I considered her MINE as a kid :) ) was black like him.

So my guess: calmness and sun. He probably goes there for the kind of people he’ll meet – concentrated, not overly talkative, petting him a bit and then going back to their books (cats appreciate “manners” and discreteness in human beings :) “thou shall not stalk the cat”). Oh well and this particular chair I bet there s sun on it a substantial amount of the time he spends there :)

Or maybe he’s one of those cats you could bet is an enchanted human being.

Dina, I think your reasoning may be right! Warm, unthreatening place where he gets lots of courtesy and space.

Either way, I love a well-read cat. :) Or dog. I bet a dog in the library wouldn’t be so welcome though. Ok, I’m being silly. LOL.
