A tribal choreography
October 20th, 2009Thanks to Joy for this new DVD alert. I have this piece of music! It’s an interesting piece and I think at one time it was a free download from Amazon.
What do you guys think: does it look promising?

I’ve seen this on YouTube a while back. At least the performance anyway. I like the song fine, it’s just overplayed. So many people dance to it. Ariellah in her Kali piece in the Fantasy Bellydance series. Other tribal dancers. Although I love Blanca’s performance to it the best in GBD Revelations.

Ah yes, now I know why the song is so familiar. It’s from some German group, I think.
I wonder what the choreography is like.

Quoted for Truth. And to be honest: I love Corvus Corax and I love Tribal but I wouldn’t mix it with Tribal Fusion. I would mix with ATS but not TF. Or I would dance just like normal to it, no bellydance at all. I don’t think it looks good together.
There’s a german dance group which dances quite well to everything that has hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes in it.

Fancypants, I know what you mean. It does seem odd a choice of song for tribal fusion. But I have to be honest. I am not a fan of tribal fusion stylings and doesn’t make sense to me. I think there is a very small percentage of music that match up with the dance style. I agree, CC music would be better danced regularly or to ATS. Although normal to me is dancing with bellydance moves..LOL!

Off topic but someone on Bhuz said you would be a good person to ask to compare the 2 DVDs Bahia’s Combinography vs Improvisation Toolkit. just wanted to know if they over lap in anyway, and which is best for advanced dancers

hI,
Yes, they do overlap considerably. In fact, I’m amazed at how much. Very very overlap.

Thanks for sharing that, Pat. Yes, it doesn’t look breathtaking, as many tribal choreographies do they moment you set eyes on them.
