I completely love the look of this one! To me, it seems to fit somewhere near when East Coast Tribal I came out. Straightforward but lovely combinations. I love Irina’s style too.

I agree, it looks good, I like her style, and that the combos are not too fussy. The workout looks very do-able, but also elegant and dancey!
I’m really looking forward to it. And I know this piece of music… I have it somewhere… but can’t remember what on earth it’s called.
I feel this video will help with tribal fusion improv. i find that much tougher than “regular” belly dancing improv.
I must admit I’ve never really tried tribal fusion improv, I struggle enough to do it from dvd’s I’ve got! I’d really love to do a bit more, I have been dancing so much egyptian style lately that a change would be nice.
I’m still trying to get through Anasma’s dvd, but there’s so much on there, and I’m usually a bit knackered by the time the warm up is halfway through! Have you got Anasma’s new one too?
Oh, I haven’t tried it much either… just wiggling more or less, while listening to tribal fusion music. It really looks as if it’s a whole different ball game because all the movements and isolaitons are tough. With American Cabaret or the “no particular style” that I would tend to dance, you have the luxury of punctuating tough moves with lots of lazy (nice lazy) and sensual moves. But with TF.. you almost have to play the music with your muscles.
I haven’t managed the TF DVDs that much. Only the huge huge conditioning sections which, I’d tend to agree, finish you off and eat up all the dance time! On top of that, I tend to exercise, so I’m really struggling to figure out how to fit in plain dancing.
As this one is billed as a workout I’m kind of hoping the workout section might be more along the lines of the love potion/luscious dance along style dvd.
I get frustrated with complex choreographies on dvd because I don’t have the patience to learn them, partly because I never perform other peoples choreos so it seems like a lot of hard work for not a lot. Obviously it would help my dancing tremendously, but it’s just so easy to get distracted at home!
I seem to be able to do okay in workshops when I’m directly engaged with the teacher so it’s not that I CAN’T do it, I’m just a bit lazy when I’m on my own.
More recently I’ve found I’d rather stick on a performance dvd and dance along, rather than get lectured on how to do a chest lift for the millionth time.
I believe it is indeed on the lines of the Luscious series. Should be fun.
I wish I could make my own choreographies. I haven’t tried at all yet. Mostly don’t know enough and am anyway downgraded to proper beginner for the past year.
But boy is it annoying to have to hear the basics instructions again and again. On the other hand, I’d never be able to just dance along!
